About Me

Diving

I started diving in 2014 at the age of 13, and ever since then I have loved being underwater. I am always trying to expand my diving qualifications and am often found underwater for work and/or pleasure. When not diving I can often be found snorkelling, free diving and sea swimming or travelling and being besides the sea.

I started my diving journey in Tenerife at a PADI dive centre called Moana Diving. Progressing to PADI Divemaster with an internship at Aquanauts in Plymouth, Devon. And expanding in to the commercial diving world with my HSE SCUBA Diver certification at Andark Diving and Water Sports in 2020. I also have dive qualifications with Green Fins and RAID. In the April of 2022, I completed my EFR Instructor and PADI IDC with Dale Spree passing my PADI IE the following weekend; becoming a qualified PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor.

I have logged well over 2,000 dives. Diving in quarries, reefs, rivers, seagrass beds, aquariums, marinas, wrecks, swimming pools and open seas thought the U.K., Canary Islands, Greece and Australia. 

Aquariums

I have lots of experience working with animals, particularly those that live in aquariums. I have kept a wide array of pets, having had and currently have multiple tanks that I care for. I have also had a wide range of professional experience caring for animals including working within 2 public aquariums: Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters and Skegness Aquarium.

At Irukandji my roles ranged from cleaning the facilities to cleaning the tanks, feeding sharks rays and fish, food prep, and public tours.

I was at Skegness Aquarium from 2017-2022, working mostly on the demonstrator, aquarist and dive departments. Caring for the animals and the enclosures and educating the public. As a professional diver at Skegness Aquarium my roles included cleaning tanks with SCUBA and free diving, videography, safety diver (plus dive supervisor and tender), fish catches and public dive experiences.

Education & Past Work

At A-Level I studied  Biology, Chemistry and Maths at Sleaford Joint Sixth Form. I also produced a documentary on sharks for my Extended Project Qualification. I then progressed to study BSc (Hons) Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology at the University of Plymouth. During my second year at the University of Plymouth I completed the module OS207 Scientific Diving.

Past diving experience includes work at Skegness Aquarium and a Divemaster Internship at Aquanauts in Plymouth, Devon. I also did some videography work with Synarchy Media to produce a promo video for Skegness Aquarium. In the field of videography I produced a 5 minute documentary for a pice of coursework at the University of Plymouth.

I previously worked as a SCUBA instructor, first aid instructor, gear technician and dive retail specialist at Aquanauts Ltd. in Plymouth.
